Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the rental of vehicles provided by the company. By making a reservation or renting a vehicle, the renter agrees to comply with the following terms.

1. Vehicle Condition

The renter confirms that the vehicle has been received in good condition. The renter agrees to return the vehicle in the same condition as received, including all tools, accessories, helmets, and equipment.

2. Vehicle Cleanliness

Garbage and sand inside the vehicle are strictly prohibited. Entering the vehicle while wet or with sunscreen or body oil is also prohibited.

Cleaning charges may range from 20€ to 50€, depending on the condition of the vehicle.

The renter must return the vehicle in the same condition in which it was received.

3. Rental Period

The rental period is specified in the rental agreement. If the renter wishes to extend the rental period, the company must be notified at least 24 hours before the scheduled return time.

4. Late Return

If the vehicle is returned later than the agreed time, an additional full rental day may be charged.

5. Care of the Vehicle

During the rental period, the renter is responsible for taking proper care of the vehicle and checking its mechanical condition including oil, water, and tires.

6. Personal Belongings

The company is not responsible for the loss or damage of personal belongings left inside the vehicle during the rental period.

7. Protection of the Vehicle

The renter must take all reasonable measures to protect the vehicle from theft, fire, vandalism, or natural disasters.

8. Mechanical Failure

The company has taken all necessary precautions to ensure the vehicle is in proper mechanical condition. In case of mechanical failure not caused by the renter, the company will repair or replace the vehicle.

9. Rental Charges

The renter agrees to pay all applicable charges including:

  • Daily rental charges

  • Fuel costs

  • Mileage charges (if applicable)

  • Delivery or return charges for different locations

  • Cleaning charges if necessary

10. Traffic Violations

The renter is responsible for all traffic violations and fines according to the Road Traffic Code (K.O.K.) during the rental period.

11. Prohibited Use of the Vehicle

The vehicle may not be used:

  • In violation of any law or regulation

  • To transport passengers or goods for payment

  • To carry more passengers than allowed by the vehicle license

  • To transport illegal goods or narcotics

  • To tow another vehicle or trailer

  • In car races or speed tests

  • By a person under the influence of alcohol or drugs

  • By a person not authorized in the rental agreement

12. Driving Area Restrictions

Scooters 50cc and ATV vehicles are prohibited from driving on the National Road and outside the Chania area.

Any damage caused due to violation of this condition is the full responsibility of the renter and is not covered by the company.

13. Off-Road Use

It is strictly forbidden to use motorbikes, ATV vehicles, or cars off-road or on beaches.

Any damage resulting from off-road use is the full responsibility of the renter.

14. Sand, Dust and Off-Road Mechanical Damage

Driving on beaches, sand, dirt roads, or dusty terrain may cause sand or debris to enter the engine, air filter, transmission system, brakes, or other mechanical components.

Damage caused by sand, dust, salt water, or debris entering mechanical parts is not covered by insurance and will be the full financial responsibility of the renter.

The company reserves the right to inspect the vehicle for sand, dust, or off-road damage upon return.

15. Insurance Coverage

Vehicles are provided with basic insurance coverage according to the rental agreement.

16. Insurance Exclusions

Insurance does not cover damages to:

  • The underside of the vehicle

  • Mirrors

  • Windshields

  • Interior damages

  • Tire wear

17. Tire and Helmet Charges

Charges apply as follows:

  • Tire repair: 20€

  • Helmet loss: 70€

  • Tire destruction: 80€–120€

18. Unauthorized Driver

Accidents caused by a driver not declared in the rental agreement are not covered by insurance.

19. Accident Procedure

In case of an accident the renter must:

  1. Contact the police immediately

  2. Record the names and addresses of witnesses

  3. Do not admit responsibility until liability is determined

  4. Contact the rental company immediately

  5. Record all accident details

  6. Submit an accident report within 24 hours

20. Vehicle Theft

In case of theft the renter must immediately notify the police and the rental company.

Failure to take reasonable precautions may result in financial liability.

21. Fuel Policy

The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at the time of delivery.

If the vehicle is returned with more fuel than it had at the time of delivery, no refund will be provided.

22. Reservation Changes

In rare circumstances (such as vehicle availability, mechanical issues, or operational reasons), the company reserves the right to replace or cancel a reservation with a vehicle of a similar category.

23. Cancellation Policy

Deposits or advance payments made to secure a reservation are non-refundable in the event of cancellation or no-show.

The company may, at its sole discretion and subject to availability, allow the rescheduling of a reservation to another date.

24. Personal Data

The renter agrees that their personal data may be stored and processed by the company for the purpose of executing the rental agreement and protecting the company’s legal rights, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

25. Security Deposit

The company may require a security deposit at the beginning of the rental period to cover damages, fines, or additional charges.

26. Payment Authorization

If the rental is paid by credit card, the renter authorizes the company to charge the card for damages, fines, or additional charges.

The customer authorizes 'Gold Bike' to charge the credit card in order to recover any damage caused to the rented vehicle.

27. Agreement Acceptance

By signing the rental agreement, the renter confirms that they have read and fully agree to all Terms and Conditions stated in this document.

28. Jurisdiction

Any disputes arising from this agreement will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Chania, Greece.

The company reserves the right to modify, update, or change the above Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. The renter acknowledges that by signing this agreement they have read, understood, and accepted all the terms stated above and agree to comply with them throughout the rental period.
